ReplyDeletecwdballer, basset hound. If you're willing to put forth the effort to do some basic training, you'll have a perfect family pet. I would get an adult one from the shelter, as the shelter or previous owner will most likely have done the housebreaking for you. I speak as an owner of a wonderful rescued basset.
ReplyDeleteShut nbAMSMK
ReplyDeletePlz leave the dog alone
ReplyDeleteThat kind of petting will just stress the dog more out..and annoy him.
ReplyDeleteok i need some help here. im in 7th grade and im finally getting my parents to budge to get me a dog for my birthday on Wednesday. but i don't know what breed. i live in a 4 bedroom house and don't have alot of room in the back. during the school year im gone for 7 hours what dog would be the best.
ReplyDeletelmao I was wondering WTF he was doing.... Petting and rubbing the dog and shit. He seemed like a tweeker.
ReplyDeleteYou just jerked that poor dog's ear
ReplyDeletethank you that ment alot to me :)
ReplyDeleteHe could also be barking because he's not sure of what is around him. My dog is perfectly still, and quiet at my cabin. All that there is around him is grass, grass, and more grass. While if I put him outside my house there will be lagre houses, noises, movement, barking, and so on.
ReplyDeleteThere is no quick way to stop barking. Reward your shep for how long he manages to be quiet. Start with 1 minute, then evolve to 5 minutes, and then 10, and then 20, and then so on.
Lol, ur videos suck.
ReplyDeleteTHIS SUCKS YOU SHOULD SHOW US HOW TO DO IT NOT JUST SAY IT AND IT LOOKS LIkE U HATE DOGS BY PETTING THE DOG IN A AWKWARD WAY
ReplyDeleteLMAO
ReplyDeleteThis sucked
ReplyDeleteThis happens even after an epic dog walk. We walk very often. He just really seems to hate the neighbors and views anyone unfamiliar as an intruder. He's great on a leash. I take him on a bus no problem.etc etc. I just have this one glitch with him that we need to work out. I was thinking maybe i could get the neighbors to participate in helping him to calm down. its an old Italian neighborhood.. maybe they can throw meatballs at him?
ReplyDeleteMore exercise. Being in the backyard isn't any mental stimulation, its painfully boring to him. He needs to be WORKED, and be MENTALLY worked. He's barking because he's bored and has nothing else to interest himself in.
ReplyDeleteA dog wants a hard and fast reward, not to be awkwardly pet on the head without any real gain. A quick concise reward for an action, instantaneously. This is not at all operand[sic] OPERANT conditioning.
ReplyDeleteWhat he is doing is rewording the dog for being quiet.. No reward when barks, being quiet- get reward. Have a look at operand conditioning..
ReplyDeleteOk so I have a German Shep in the back yard. how do I get him to stop barking at the neighbors? How do I get him to stop being so territorial and more friendly towards my peace loving gardeners.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell are you talking about? So the dog barks and you join in by shouting? Telling it to stop? You haven't obviously had to deal with a dog that barks.
ReplyDeleteUmmmm, this is a very vague video. Don't do this, don't do that; but what DO you do?
ReplyDeleteyea you think, but you're a joke. you clearly have no first hand experience raising dogs but still find the need to "correct" proven dog raising methods on youtube. just stop talking before you say anything to make you sound more ridicules and stupid, because no proven dog trainers disagree with the dominate down. thanks
ReplyDeleteI think dozens of professional dogtrainers know better than you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this video. Got a new rescue dog today after having put down my thirteen year old best friend. Their lives are just too, too short. I'd really forgotten some of the finer points of training a new bud so your information is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThanks =)
