  8. the apps which come as standard are shown in the review, the pet pad, the story ap and the art studio, you also get to choose 2 free apps on purchase, but other apps need to be brought and downloaded fro the online store

  11. which rechargeables do you use? we have the leapfrog explorer and started using rechargeables but they didn't seem to work correctly and we decided that it was because they weren't the correct Mh number

  14. Leapfrog is notorious for rushing shoddy products to market. Look at the review (side by side comparison of the V-Tech pad. The Leapad is much worse where it counts, in the actual applications, and writing recognition. Leap Frog also has a history of poor customer service, and dropping products if they don't sell as well as hoped. Check out the V-Tech pad before purchasing either.

  21. @mrpoet212 hi the batteries I have been sing are rechargeable and I tend to find they last about 10 -15 hours of play? that might not seem too long but its a fair amount of time, There is however a mains cable which is due to be on sale towards the end of november.

  22. Anyone considering this should check out Vtech Innotab

    Innotab advantages:
    - Can play movies or music (mp3/mp4)
    - allows for sd card up to 16Gb
    - tilt sensor
    - more out of box content
    - much better sync to computer
    - much better battery life
    - price ($80)

    Disadvantage: No camera

  23. I would say this could be a great learning tool, but obviously it depends what your sisters strengths and weakness are, there are so many educational benefits with this and lots of apps to download if you wish which included some very well known characters and again these have educational themes.
